Beef: Multibreed genetic evaluation - Overview

New evaluations for more than 20 beef breeds
Two beef multibreed genetic evaluations are being established – one for tropical breeds (TROPBEEF) and one for temperate breeds (TEMPBEEF).
Breeds targeted for inclusion include:

Angus, Beef Shorthorn, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Charolais, Devon, Hereford, Limousin, Murray Grey, Red Angus, Shorthorn, Simmental, Speckle Park, Salers, South Devon and Wagyu. |
The establishment of the multibreed beef genetic evaluations is in a research and development phase, with target dates for the availability of the TROPBEEF genetic evaluation in May 2027, followed by the TEMPBEEF genetic evaluation in January 2028.
